The subsequent guide will outline the steps to rectify the 'no available MTD periods found' error, which may arise during the submission of a VAT return.
'No available MTD periods found' means the tax periods within iplicit and HMRC have become un-synchronised, and requires a refresh to re-align the two systems.
In order to achieve this, you can type MTD into the search bar, and select “MTD Registration”.
You will then be presented with this screen, where you want to drill down into the Tax group which matches your current VAT return.
Once you drill into the Tax group, select the period relevant to the current submission, then click the ellipsis at the top of the page, followed by the synchronise button.
You can automate this process by configuring a scheduler to trigger the synchronise button, which will carry out the action automatically. It's advisable to set this to operate on a regular basis to guarantee that the Tax periods are updated according to your tax return obligations.
